The 1st Save The Waves Film Fest Azores Tour begins on September 17 and will travel through 5 islands of the archipelago until October 1. This event is promoted by Save The Waves Coalition, a non-profit organization based in Santa Cruz, California.
The program includes a selection of surf films, with a focus on the environment. There are other aiming at the participation of local communities on the islands where the festival takes place. These activities are Ocean Literacy sessions with schools and workshops, to discuss issues that are strategic in the preservation of surf ecosystems and conservation of marine environments.
