New Year’s Bath – Porto Pim

Swimming in the ocean on New Year’s day is a traditional event in Faial. If you don’t mind the water temperature, it will be about 16 degrees Celsius, then do not miss it. It will not feel that cold, as the forecast for the air temparature is only 13 degrees. Most of the people will gather in for the New Year’s bath in Porto Pim and jump into the ocean. The official gathering of the event will be at the old fire station in the city at noon.
