The summer is coming and some among you might be planning to travel to the Azores. What are the rules for visiting the islands in the light of the COVID 19 pandemic? Please find below a short summary on the current state.

COVID 19 Update on regulations 01/05/2021

With the end of the state of emergency in Portugal, the entry rules for the Azores have been adapted. The following procedures apply currently and continuously adapted to the actual risk situation:

  • If you have a negative PCR test which has been made not longer than 72 hours before the departure of your flight, you can enter without quarantine.
  • If you enter without a negative PCR test, you are obliged to test upon arrival and until receiving a negative result you must stay in quarantine in your accommodation. The test result will be communicated normally within 24 hours.
  • If your stay exceeds 7 days, you must make a second test on day 6 after arrival.
  • If your stay exceeds 13 days, you must make another follow up test on day 12 after arrival.
  • The follow up tests can be made at the local test centres and are free of charge.
  • There are currently no exceptions for vaccinated travellers.
  • If you are tested positive on any of the tests you are subject to a compulsory 10 quarantine and further tests.
  • Due to the current situation of the pandemic on São Miguel island (see below) you are obliged to have a negative PCR which has been made no longer than 72 hours before travelling to any other island. You are also obliged to do follow up tests on day 6 and 12 if applicable.

Current situation of the pandemic and restrictions in force:

  • São Miguel Island has currently more than 200 active cases and chains of local transmission. Therefore, strict lockdown measures are in place on the entire island, among others:
    • Restaurants are closed, only take away services are permitted.
    • Curfew between 20:00 and 5:00 during weekdays, between 15:00 and 5:00.
  • The situation on São Miguel is closely followed by the authorities and continuously adapted to the situation.
  • The other islands are either free of any active infections (Faial, Pico, Graçiosa, Corvo and São Jorge) or have a minimal number of controlled cases (Terçeira, Santa Maria and Flores).
  • On these islands, there are minimal restrictions in place which do not hinder normal life.

A vészhelyzet megszűnésével Portugáliában lettek módosítva a beutazási szabályok az Azori szigetekre. Jelenleg a következő szabályok érvényesek, ezek a járványhelyzettől függően folyamatosan vannak frissítve:

  • Ha van egy negatív, 72 órával indulás előtt csináltatott PCR teszt, lehet beutazni a szigetekre karantén kötelezettség nélkül.
  • Ha teszt nélkül érkezel, akkor érkezéskor kell egy tesztet csináltatni és az eredményig a szálláshelyen karanténban maradni. Normál esetben, a teszteredmény 24 órán belül érkezik.
  • Ha több mint 7 napot maradsz a szigeteken, akkor a 6. napon kell egy második tesztet csináltatni.
  • Ha több mint 13 nap maradsz a szigeteken, akkor a 12. napon kell még egy tesztet csinálni.
  • Ezek az utóteszteket lehet a helyi tesztközpontokon csinálni és ingyenesek.
  • Jelenleg nincsenek kivételek azoknak, akik már megkapták a vakcintát.
  • Amennyiben bármelyik teszteredmény pozitív, kötelező legalább 10 napos karantén és több tesztet.
  • A jelenlegi São Miguel szigeti járványhelyzet miatt (lásd lent) az utazás a többi szigetekre csak akkor engedélyezett, ha van egy újabb 72 óránál nem régebbi negatív PCR teszt indulás előtt, illetve kell is utótesztek a 6. és a 12. napon a célszigeten.

Jelenlegi járvány helyzet és érvénybe lévő korlátozások:

  • São Miguel szigeten van jelenleg több mint 200 aktív fertőzött és több aktív fertőzési lánc. Emiatt szigorú korlátozások vannak érvényben az egész szigeten. Többek között ezek:
    • Az éttermek zárva vannak, csak elvitelre kiszolgálhatnak.
    • Kijárási tilalom érvényben van, hétköznapon 20:00 és 05:00 között, hétvégén 15:00 és 05:00 között.
  • A hatóságok folyamatosan figyelik a szituációt és szükség eseten vagy enyhítenek, vagy szigorítanak.
  • A többi szigeteken jelenleg nincsenek fertőzettek (Faial, Pico, Graçiosa, Corvo és São Jorge) vagy minimális és kontroll alatt tartott számok (Terçeira, Santa Maria és Flores).
  • Ezeken a szigeteken minimális korlátozások vannak érvényben, de ezek nem zavarják a mindennapi életet.

Vigyázzatok magatokra és másokra, tiszteljétek a szabályokat!

Mit dem Ende des Notstandes in Portugal wurden die Einreisebestimmungen für die Azoren aktualisiert. Zurzeit sind folgende Regeln in Kraft, sie werden laufend der aktuellen Situation angepasst.

  • Man kann mit einem negative PCR Test, der nicht länger als 72 Stunden vor der Abreise gemacht wurde, ohne Quarantäne einreisen.
  • Sollte kein negativer Test vorliegen, muss dieser bei Ankunft gemacht werden, jedoch muss man sich dann bis zum Erhalt des negativen Ergebnisses in Quarantäne begeben. Normalerweise wird das Testergebnis innerhalb von 24 Stunden kommuniziert.
  • Sollte der Aufenthalt länger als 7 Tage dauern, muss ein Folgetest am 6. Tag gemacht werden.
  • Sollte der Aufenthalt länger als 13 Tage dauern, wird ein weiterer Folgetest am 12. Tag nach Ankunft fällig.
  • Die Folgetests können in den lokalen Testzentren gemacht werden und sind kostenfrei.
  • Zurzeit gibt es keine Ausnahmen für Geimpfte.
  • Sollte ein Test positiv ausfallen muss man sich zwingenderweise in eine 10-tägige Quarantäne begeben und weitere Tests werden fällig.
  • Auf Grund der momentanen Epidemie Situation auf São Miguel (siehe unten), muss man im Falle einer Weiterreise auf eine der anderen 8 Inseln wiederum einen negativen PCR Test der nicht länger als 72 Stunden vor der Abreise gemacht wurde vorweisen. Im weiteren müssen an der Zieldestination wiederum Tests am 6. Beziehungsweise am 12. Tag gemacht werden.

Aktuelle Situation und Einschränkungen:

  • Auf São Miguel hat es zurzeit mehr als 200 aktive Infektionsfälle und lokale Übertragungsketten. Deshalb sind auf der ganzen Insel strikte Einschränkungen in Kraft, unter anderem:
    • Restaurants sind geschlossen und dürfen nur Take Away Dienste anbieten.
    • Eine Ausgangssperre ist in Kraft, an Wochentagen zwischen 20:00 und 5:00 an Wochenenden zwischen 15:00 und 5:00.
  • Die Situation auf São Miguel wird von den Behörden genau verfolgt und laufend angepasst.
  • Die anderen Inseln sind entweder frei von Infektionen (Faial, Pico, Graçiosa, Corvo and São Jorge) oder haben eine minimale Anzahl von kontrollierten Fällend (Terçeira, Santa Maria and Flores).
  • Auf diesen Inseln sind nur minimale Einschränkungen in Kraft, die den Alltag nicht beinträchtigen.
