Are you looking for a unique and challenging trail running experience in the Azores? If so, you might want to join the Triangle Adventure by Azores Trail Run, a three-stage race that takes place in three different islands: Pico, São Jorge and Faial.
The Triangle Adventure is an amazing opportunity to explore the natural beauty and diversity of the Azorean archipelago, while testing your endurance and skills on varied and demanding terrains. You will run through volcanic landscapes, lush forests, coastal cliffs, green pastures and historical villages, enjoying breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the other islands.
The race consists of three stages, each one with a different distance and elevation gain. The first stage is on Pico Island, where you will run 28,5 km with 2400 m of elevation gain, starting from the village of Madalena and finishing at the top of the majestic Pico Mountain, the highest point in Portugal. The second stage is on São Jorge Island, where you will run 30 km with 1500 m of elevation gain, starting from the village of São Tomé and finishing at the Fajã dos Cubres, a stunning natural reserve. The third and final stage is on Faial Island, where you will run 30 km with 1500 m of elevation gain, starting and finishing at the volcano of Capelinhos, leading up to the Caldeira of Faial and back to Capelinhos.
