Nossa Senhora da Ajuda – Pedro Miguel

25 years after the devastating earthquake that hit Faial and destroyed among many other buildings the church of Pedro Miguel, the new church Nossa Senhora da Ajuda has been inaugurated on July 23. This important event is celebrated in Pedro Miguel with a week long spiritual and civil program. Besides holy masses there will be this weekend a big festivity. On Friday with chamarritas and KJ Paulo Xavier, on Saturday folklore with the Grupo Folclórico of Pedro Miguel and Onda Jovem and on Sunday with the Filarmónica Unânime Praiense.
