The recently created Climbing and Mountaineering Club of Faial, together with the Parish Council of Matriz and the Cineclube of Faial, are hosting the first edition of the REEL ROCK Festival.
This open-air movie session at the Largo do Carmo offers an exciting evening of cinema, adventure and climbing. In its 17th edition, the Reel Rock festival brings us three exciting new films featuring the biggest climbing and adventure stories of the year:
“Burning the Flame”, Austrian climbers Babsi Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher attempt a free ascent of the Nameless Tower in Pakistan.
“DNA”, Seb Bouin tackles what can be seen as the world’s hardest sport climbing route in the Verdon Gorge in France.
“Resistance Climbing”, against the backdrop of conflict in Palestine, a diverse group of climbers find community, solace and redemption.
