In October the Cine Clube brings a warm and tropical cycle to warm up our autumn. Three Brazilian feature films will be screened throughout the month portraying the current state of Brazilian cinema – full of mystery, drama, and social and political criticism. Tickets are available at the Mercado Municipal or at the box office.
Bacurau by Juliano Dornelles and Kleber Mendonça Filho
A mix of western and science fiction, the first screening of the cycle brings the award-winning Bacurau, by directors Juliano Dornelles and Kleber Mendonça Filho. The film mixes elements from the past, present and future, in a surreal allegorical criticism of politics and society.
A Vida Invisível by Karim Aïnouz
A Vida Invisível, Invisible Life, tells the story of two extremely close sisters who find themselves separated by life’s dramas related to the patriarchal structure of society.
Boi Neon by Gabriel Mascaro
In an essentially rustic setting, Boi Neon, Neon Bull portrays contrasting elements between the strength and sensitivity of the cowboy (cowboy) who dreams of being a fashion designer.
