Most of the visitors arriving on Faial will arrive in Castelo Branco at the airport of Faial. Beyond the airport, the parish of Castelo Branco which has 1300 inhabitants and is situated on the southern coast of Faial. Unlike Feteira, most of its coastline are cliffs.

Visit the emblematic white volcanic rock of Morro de Castelo Branco, you might have spotted it just before touchdown of your flight.
Take a refreshing bath in the swimming pools of Castelo Branco, located below the airport it is a perfect place for families with kids as there are, besides the natural pools and the possibility to swim in the open water, two large artificial pools as well.
