Rolling hills, old agriculture pathways, not much traffic, Faial is a great place for horse riding. There is a riding center in Capelo and there are some tourism establishments offering horse riding tours on the island. If you want to do some voluntary work, then you can help at Associação Ninovan, a shelter for abandoned horses.
